Urban myth?
We recently read about a scam where a city worker (who knew the previously used access code) was checking to see if the same property was available late at night via a global OTA website.
If it showed availability after his night ‘on the town’ then he would let himself in and sleep on the couch, and save a large taxi fare home!
Now whether this is just an urban myth or there is some truth in it, it inspired us to create a new feature called ACCESS CODES, now available to download in our Extensions Store.
Get Access Codes for free through the Extensions Store
Head to Account>Extensions to install for FREE!
Once installed, go to ACCOMMODATION and ACCESS CODES, and you will find all the instructions on how to set these up.
The really clever bit though, is once you have made a reservation, you can go to Access codes and EDIT the list to see a list of upcoming reservations. You can set an individual code just for those guests arriving, if no code is set, the default code is used.
Codes are only sent out on the reservation reminder itself (so cancelled bookings wont get them!). If you have a customised email set for the reservation reminder, you should ensure that you use the correct Magic Tag as below:
{{bookings_summary_with_access_codes}}

Other ways to use Access Codes
Don’t worry if you don’t have door codes though, you can also add codes for anything you want – store cupboards (cleaning chemicals), Garage/Shed doors, and perhaps just the WIFI code like the example above. So we hope you like this new feature!
